The Band

  • US sax player Kevin settled in the UK in the early 80’s and worked in the London jazz and pop scene. He has recorded with B.B. King, and members of Pink Floyd, the Sex Pistols, Portishead and Led Zeppelin.

He gradually shifted primarily to jazz, playing with his own group and the Tommy Chase Quartet at festivals in the UK such as Glastonbury, Brecon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Brighton and festivals in Europe in Milan, Paris, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the North Sea Jazz Festival. He has been working with David Gordon, putting out two CD’s, Riprap and Snow-Blue Night, working both with poets in commissions from the TS Eliot Festival and other events, and as an instrumental quartet.

A scholarship at Berklee College of Music saw Tiago record with Spontaneous and Hiromi’s Explosion Trio.

Tiago has toured the world, recording and performing with various bands including the Gavin Harrison and 05Ric Band, piano superstar Hiromi, soul singer Myles Sanko, jazz funk band Resolution 88, Orphy Robinson, Cleveland Watkiss, Malik and the O.Gs, and Dennis Rollins.
Martin has built a reputation as a highly innovative jazz composer, with music that is both intricate and accessible. He is also a co-founder of the Cambridge Jazz Festival.

He studied music at Jesus College Cambridge before moving to Nottingham where he was an integral part of the jazz scene in the 90s, playing with Ben Martin, Helen McDonald and Juba, as well as the first quartet to perform his original music.

Now based near Cambridge he has played with numerous groups including the Andy Bowie Quartet.

Inspired by a short period of study with Chick Corea in 2012, Martin decided to form Q3, writing and recording the band's first album Spider Dance.
Derek plays drum kit, jazz vibraphone, piano, and orchestral percussion, and is an experienced performer in classical, jazz and popular music.

He has performed with artists across a range of styles including Ivan Garford, Dan Forshaw, Tony Kofi, Tabasco, Vesperados and Buhaina.
